Confidentiality Statement

Our Commitment to Absolute Discretion

Discretion is Not a Marketing Position

At Grand Wine, confidentiality is not a compliance obligation or a marketing message—it is an operational imperative and a core principle that defines how we conduct business.

We recognize that many of our clients value privacy as much as the wines themselves. Whether you are a private collector building a personal cellar, a family office diversifying into alternative assets, or an institution managing a corporate collection, your relationship with us remains entirely confidential.

"In twenty-three years advising families and institutions on wine acquisitions, I have learned that discretion is not a marketing position—it is operational imperative. The finest collections are assembled quietly, held privately, and valued not by public attention but by personal satisfaction and prudent stewardship."
— Dr. Ivan Von Draxler, PhD

No Third-Party Sales or Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share client information with third parties for their marketing purposes. Ever. Under any circumstances. This includes:

We do not share your contact information with producers, estates, or other service providers without your explicit consent. Any introductions are made at your request and with your approval.

Limited Exceptions to Confidentiality

There are narrow circumstances where we may be required to disclose information:

Legal & Regulatory Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law:

  • In response to valid legal process (subpoenas, court orders)
  • To comply with anti-money laundering regulations
  • When required by tax authorities or customs officials
  • To protect legal rights or defend against legal claims
  • When necessary to prevent fraud or illegal activity

In all cases, we disclose only information specifically required and notify clients when legally permissible.

  • Storage facilities (necessary details for storage arrangements)
  • Shipping companies (delivery addresses and contact information)
  • Insurance providers (collection details for coverage)

All such disclosures are limited to information necessary to provide the requested service. Third parties are bound by confidentiality agreements and prohibited from using information for other purposes.

Client Authorization

We will share information when you explicitly authorize us to do so, for example:

  • Coordinating with your financial advisors or attorneys
  • Facilitating introductions to producers or other collectors
  • Providing documentation for insurance or estate planning

Confidentiality in Practice

"Our clients often tell us that they appreciate our discretion more than our sourcing ability. This is the highest compliment we can receive. In an age of social media oversharing and marketing surveillance, we remain what private advisory should be: entirely private."
— Dr. Ivan Von Draxler, PhD

No Public Showrooms or Client Lists

We do not maintain public showrooms where clients might encounter each other. Meetings are conducted by appointment in private settings. Your relationship with Grand Wine is known only to you and us.

Anonymous Case Studies

When we reference client engagements on our website or in discussions with prospective clients, we thoroughly anonymize all details. We never identify clients, specific holdings, transaction values, or any information that could compromise privacy.

Secure Delivery & Packaging

Wine deliveries are made in unmarked packaging with no indication of contents, value, or sender identity. Delivery personnel are instructed to be discreet and professional.

Financial Discretion

Financial transactions are structured to protect your privacy within all applicable legal requirements. We use secure payment methods and do not discuss your financial arrangements with third parties.

We retain client information only as long as necessary to provide services and meet legal requirements:

Active Client Records

Maintained throughout the advisory relationship and for a reasonable period afterward to facilitate potential future engagement.

Transaction Records

Retained for 10 years after transaction completion to comply with regulatory requirements and support provenance documentation.

Former Client Data

After retention periods expire, client data is securely destroyed:

  • Electronic records: Permanently deleted with secure erasure
